The emitted carbon dioxide would be injected into the Occidental Petroleum oilfields. This project would be located 'near Bakersfield, CA'. A carbon capture and sequestratio facility (CCS). They state they will begin construction in 2011 and finish in 2014. Carbon sequestration would begin in 2016. As of Dec. 2009, this is an active proposal. The map marker is an approximation.
