7/31/2008 Desert Rock got its air permit, but on April 27th, 2009 the EPA withdrew the air permit stating the permit was prematurely granted and that the proposal didn't include 'best available technologies'. Senator Udall supports the plant, Bingaman states the construction is out of his control The Navajo Nation is to pay 25-49% of the total cost. The plant would emit 12.7 million tons of GHG/yr
