Locally procured woody biomass (urban wood debris) will be used in place of natural gas to dry wet biosolids at the waste water treatment plant. The project will be funded by U.S. Department of Energy grants and matching funds from the SWPCA. This project is schedule for completion in 2010, but it is unclear if the project has been finished (as of July 2011). This facility has only one unit -- it is being converted from natural gas powered, to biomass powered.
