The mill part closed in 2000. Boralex bought the facility from Wheelabrator in 2006. According to the 2012 US Biomass Power Map this facility is idle. Average annual production: 125GWh "On June 27, 2008, Boralex brought back into operation the Stacyville power station in Maine, in order to capitalize on high electricity prices in the New England market and to help the Ashland power station improve the profitability of its Renewable Energy Certificates (“RECs”) production and reduce its electricity transmission costs to the NEPOOL grid. However, the Corporation decided to close the facility for an undetermined period of time in March 2009."
