Notes
In February 2009, an explosion in a dust collection silo injured 6 workers. The dust collection technology was built in 2007, produced by Airtrol Inc. This plant burns Power River Basin Coal. As of Dec. 2009, construction of expanded units still not complete. Expansion unit 1 will be opened January 2010 and the second expansion unit is set for completion in August 2010. This plant would draw 1.8 billion gallons of water/day from Lake Michigan. The above-listed cost pertains only to the cost of constructing the 2 most recent units. We Energies encountered significant legal hurdles put forward by Sierra Club and Clean Wisconsin. The 7 year lawsuiit ended in a $105 million settlement in favor of Sierra Club and Clean Wisconsin.
