The White Mesa Uranium Mill, owned by Energy Fuels Resources (USA) Inc. (a Canadian company), is the only uranium mill licensed to operate in the US. The mill processes uranium ore from the Four-Corners region, most recently from Utah and Arizona. The mill is adjacent to the land of the White Mesa Band of the Ute Mt. Ute Tribe. There are many issues related to groundwater contamination and emission of radon and radon progeny and dispersal of uranium and other particulates.
