burns Appalachian coal from MEPCO surface mine in Greene County PA Longview has proposed to construct a 600 megawatt (MW) (net) power generation facility with interconnection to Allegheny Energy Supply Company lines. The pulverized coal supercritical boiler burning 2.5 percent sulfur (nominal) bituminous coal would operate with a once-through, balanced draft, single reheat steam turbine/generator. A natural gas-fired auxiliary boiler would be used to supply startup steam to the main boiler.
