Proposed as an Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle (IGCC) and CCS plant. Though abandoned in 2008, the Obama administration is hopeful in reviving the project. The plant was heavily subsidized by the government (Department of Energy) and pushed as US's showcase project in CCS. The project was to be online by 2012, but Energy Secretary Samuel Bodman sought to pull the plug on the project.
